New Spells: Raise Grave-Guard, Armored Sanctum, Unmake & Crypt Mist
I always lament the lack of cool necromancy spells in core D&D, making it extremely difficult to play a cool Necromancer - a flavour of character I immensely enjoy. I already made a whole bunch of Necromancy spells, but here's a few more.
Raise Grave-Guard
Tackles the lack of cool summoning spells in addition. Summons two Skeletal Graveblades, heavily armed undead with a distinct hate for all that is living. They stand by your side through thick and bone-thin and will even stay around for a while when you lose consciousness.
Armored Sanctum
Not directly a Necromancy spell, but keen observers might spot a connection to the looming Cathedral Knight and his Bellringers. Its a different take on things like Bigby's Hand or Otiluke's Resilient Sphere, summoning a giant gauntleted hand that protects you from harm while in its grasp.
Unmake
If you wan't an alternative to the classic finger of death or don't want to look up how des disinte disintigrate is spelled everytime you want to carve out a large chunk of hit points out of something, unmake is the spell for you. I don't want to spoil too much, but its nasty.
Crypt Mist
Cover your undead minions' advance by casting crypt mist, having them regenerate hit points while poisoning the living and reducing any healing they receive by half.
Playtest Wizard Subclass: Necromancer
I'm currently working on a few classes/subclasses, hopefully to be released in the not tooooo distant future. If you are interested in helping me playtest things like a cool Necromancer Subclass for the Wizard, the Oath of Excess for the Paladin or the all-new Deteriorator Class ("Making the world a worse place, one dice roll at a time!"), hit me up!
