New Releases: The Tyrant-Queen of Dragons (and more!)
Over on Beneos Battlemaps we released the Monument of Tiamat, or as we lovingly call it, Draconic Vatican City. Between what the module gives us and our own drive, a whole bunch of creatures come with it, of course, to fill the place with life!
This batch includes seven new creatures, among them our take on Tiamat herself, an absolute CR 30 monster whose statblock has everything you need for a worthy legendary boss fight that spans multiple phases and all five stages of grief!
Manticore
Manticores currently get the short end of the stick in the Monster Manual. Am I crazy or does this really not read as the profile of a winged lion with a humanoid face and a tail full of poisonous spikes?

Dragonfiends
Dragonfiends are my take on abishai. To capture the different chromatic facets, I made the dragonfiends truly modular, so you can adjust their draconic heritage depending on the color you want, and the identity of the creatures shifts a bit accordingly.
Death's Head of the Tyrant-Queen & Minotaur Champion
Two notable NPCs are lurking around Tiamat's Monument, and I took that as an opportunity to interpret the statblocks our way: a champion-executioner for the deity who received necromantic control over dragon bones from her to carry out his duty, and a minotaur champion base template that can be used in all kinds of ways and, in my opinion, is pretty cool with the possibilities that the evocative frame of a minotaur offers.
Draconic Envoys & Adepts of Dragonlore
Envoys and adepts are base templates for warlock and wizard NPCs, and in this case the base template was expanded with dragon-flavored abilities. The number of envoys and adepts keeps growing, and if you have a wish for which archetype I should tackle next, feel free to let me know!
Early November will bring another comprehensive recap where I take a closer look at all the creatures and introduce them. Otherwise, have fun with the release!
