As always, we aim to release our content in whatever way is most useful for you, which is why here too we're once again taking the approach of a massive drop accompanying the latest releases of Beneos Battlemaps.

I have taken on all the creatures who, according to the module, inhabit the Wandering Emporium. So here is a massive release, putting together a collection of wonderful weirdos.

For the time, I will focus on reinterpreting and reworking existing creatures and statblocks. Ultimately, we want you to be able to run a redesigned Beneos version of every D&D SRD creature in addition to all our unique ones.

Since it's going to happen more and more often that a whole set of creatures gets dropped all at once, there will no longer be individual showcase videos. Instead, I'll start making a roundup video at the end of each month, in which I go over the creatures, spells, and of course the magic items that were released, and give a bit of an overview of what they're about, so that nothing gets left out.

Rakshasa

The Rakshasa is one of the standard SRD creatures whose base statblock I'm relatively happy with, so I mainly built on top of it to further deepen the concept of the Rakshasa as a sadistic manipulator who's always one step ahead of its opponents. At the same time, the Rakshasa is a challenging one to design, because if you find yourself facing it in direct combat, it has already done something wrong. That means I don't want to make it too punishing, since that would strip it of its identity. If this creature can settle everything in a one-on-one fight, why would it bother pulling its strings from the shadows? So the new abilities are meant to give the DM concrete tools to actively play out that manipulative streak and terrorize the players with it. The Rakshasa remains a deceptive, treacherous creature built around surprise and manipulation, now with a few more flavourful tools.

Ancient Copper Dragon

I'm trying to keep this fairly short, so just this. Copper dragons are, in their own unique way, among the most powerful creature archetypes in the setting, as tricksters and deceivers with a sense of humor always come out ahead of their brutish equivalents. I really went all out to do justice to every facet of the creature's identity: its baseline identity as a powerful ancient dragon, as the embodiment of its chromatic nature and the domain that stems from it, and as an enriching, worthy centerpiece for any situation, from a single encounter to a campaign spanning multiple sessions.

These are just the big three, as you can see, there are a few more new creatures that all deserve some special attention. Regardless how many of our creatures you have used, you know that there's something special within each of them and I hope that by releasing more and more creatures alongside the map releases more and more of you will actually get to use as many of them as possible.

Important News - Beneos Streaming is coming

This applies only to Foundry VTT users.

Streaming is a new way to use your content for VTTs. Beneos Shop costumers or active patrons have unrestricted access, no limits or throttling.

Because content is streamed instead of uploaded, we can bring Beneos maps to other browser based virtual tabletops. A Roll20 integration is in the works, and it does not touch your Roll20 storage quota at all. The same goes for Owlbear Rodeo and AboveVTT. We'll share more when we have more to show.
