Temple of Excess: Majili's Oriental Tavern

As always, this pack plugs effortlessly into some releases you already own.
If you're running Descent into Avernus, this is an atmospheric cut that will have your players gasping for air. No amount of foreshadowing or rumour can prepare them for the contrast between the hellscape outside and the comfort within.
But, and this matters, while these maps work perfectly as a continuation of the Wandering Emporium, none of them are bound to Avernus. They stand entirely on their own.
ALL IN ALL:
-
3x HUGE animated battlemaps + their respective sceneries
-
Immersive, custom ambient audio tracks tailored to the location
-
An animated intro sequence
-
A selection of 3D-rendered player handouts
Let's take a detailed look at the so-called tavern and talk about what makes each of them a great fit for your adventures.
The South Side

The centrepiece. An enormous hall dominated by a very long bar, with numerous seating areas arranged throughout.
Perfect for the absolut wildest cast of characters sit shoulder to shoulder, forge alliances, start intrigues. Traders from all realms and planes could hold court here, negotiate, squabble.
It's also large enough to run a serious fight in. Think of Assassins moving through the crowds, negotiations collapse with insane sets of bodyguards going at each other. The scale and layout support both a dozen parallel conversations where every snippet sounds like a feverdream, a full-scale combat encounter and an ongoing heist on the downlow, which is honestly a hard balance to strike on one map.

It's a social hub, a political staging ground, a combat arena, a safe house, a heist target. It's fully prepared and bustling with life! Check out the trailer to see how lively it becomes when populated with your world's wildest and weirdest!
The North Side

The water-rich north side offers a bit more privacy, the focus lies on the round table in the center, where a high stakes game could be happening, drawing the attention while all kinds of shady stuff goes on towards the edges of the map, the whispers drowned out by the strategically placed fountains.
It can also be the perfect place to relax for the party, meet some kooky npcs before retiring to the private quarters either of the one they are here to meet or the ones they managed to secure they stay for the night in.

It can be a harem, a royal pleasure palace or a more innocent retreat. A luxurious wing of a larger palace complex. The debased sanctum of a cult of excess or the perfect ritual site for a Slaanesh cult, if you're running a Warhammer or adjacent setting.
The Apartments

These are Luxurious private quarters. At the centre, four large beds for the party. Off to the right, a simpler bedroom, either for the more smelly party members or any accompanying npcs that have a modicum of privacy left. There's a bathroom, a large pool, and further living and lounging areas throughout.

There's even a secluded bedroom to the right, for the more smelly party members. There's a bathroom, a large pool, and further living and lounging areas throughout.
It can be a genuinely safe, comfortable resting spot or makes for a cool setting to infiltrate, housing the target of an assassination or break in carried out (or to be prevented by) your players.

All our work is funded by our incredible community. As a token of our gratitude, we're proud to offer all our 2D battle maps for free! This is our way of saying 'Thank You' for your support and contribution.

As always, we aim to release our content in whatever way is most useful for you, which is why here too we're once again taking the approach of a massive accompanying release of Beneos creatures, spells, and loot. Leon has taken on all the creatures that, according to the module, inhabit the Wandering Emporium (which, by the way, we're also releasing today, so check it out if you haven't already), putting together a sizeable collection of wonderful weirdos that you can distribute beautifully across your various tables.

If you want to deviate from the rakshasa (with a juiced up stat block) as the house's rightful lord (or lady), the newly reinterpreted Ancient Copper Dragon - elevated to a proper Beneos standard, of course - also makes for an outstanding, dazzling eminence at the center of it all!

There's also a bunch of maggots, mages and one moody hobgoblin.
Important News - Beneos Streaming is coming
This applies only to Foundry VTT users.
If you haven't, check out this post about how your life continues to become easier because you are supporting Beneos.
Streaming is a new way to use your content for VTTs. Beneos Shop costumers or active patrons have unrestricted access, no limits or throttling.

Because content is streamed instead of uploaded, we can bring Beneos maps to other browser based virtual tabletops. A Roll20 integration is in the works, and it does not touch your Roll20 storage quota at all. The same goes for Owlbear Rodeo and AboveVTT. We'll share more when we have more to show.
Check out the aforementioned post for more details!

Gone are days of navigating Google Drive or Moulinette. If you are using Foundry VTT, you can import the Foundry Tier content straight through our updated module. If you want to download the files, you can do so from our website, beneos-battlemaps.com.
Create a Beneos Cloud Account using the same email adress for your Patreon Account and you will be automatically verified within minutes and can download your zip files from our cloud.

A lot of changes have been made to the cloud, to the module, to the whole Beneos ecosystem. There is a whole different post detailing all the changes we have made, that you can (any probably should, because its super cool) check out here!
There's also a detailed FAQ that will bring you up to speed!
