Patron Request: Krampus
"Krampus was once a man who committed terrible deeds. As punishment, he was cursed to roam the lands, given the chance to present his soul for reevaluation at the end of each year - if it is free from guilt, the curse will be lifted. Instead of putting in the work, Krampus abducts children in the twisted attempt to pass their innocent souls off as his own and break the curse. He hasn’t been successful, but not for the lack of trying. He is accompanied by Sacklings, ramshackle constructs inhabited by stolen child souls, because naturally it is their fault that his curse is not lifted. "
Time and schedule allowing, I'm always eager to take a crack at creatures or concepts requested by members of the community - feel free to hit me up!
I really like the concept I cooked up for an interpretation of the Krampus, a well-known mythical creature where we're from. It also draws inspiration from one of my favourite obscure folklore figures, the aptly named Sack Man. He does what it says on the tin, just carries around a big sack and tries to snatch children.
I gave it all the tools to be a more psychologically oriented, narratively intense encounter rather than putting the focus on number crunching, but I always make sure that every creature plays well.
I provided a number of different ways the Krampus can truly be beaten rather than just warded off for a few hours, all of them put an interesting spin on the encounter.
Let me know if you used him and how it went, happy hunting!

FAQ:
1) Do I need to change anything?
Two things:
-
Update the Beneos module and the D&D 5e System for FoundryVTT
-
Use Foundry VTT v13, as the cloud integration supports v13 only.
2) How do I link my cloud account with Patreon?
Create an account at beneos.cloud, log in, and click “Connect Patreon" on the upper left side. The link between accounts remains active as long as your pledge is active. In the module, simply log in with your Beneos account.
3) Can I still download ZIP files?
Yes. On beneos.cloud you can download individual packs or complete backlogs as ZIPs and use them as you wish, for example via Roll20/Alchemy RPG.
4) How do I install directly into Foundry VTT?
In the Beneos module (v13), use the Search Engine: Click “Install” or drag-and-drop into your world. No manual downloads/uploads/imports/compendia needed anymore.
Foundry VTT V12 users can continue to load old zip files with their V12 Beneos module, but please note that for technical reasons, new content can only be released for V13, so it is advisable to update as soon as possible.
