How to install and use Beneos Battlemaps and Beneos Tokens, Spells and Items with Foundry VTT
Installation Instructions for Beneos Content in Foundry VTT
On this page, we'll explain how to use Beneos Content in Foundry VTT. But first, here is a quick overview of the features we offer for Foundry VTT:
- Linked Maps and Scenes: As a Game Master (DM), you can freely navigate between maps using a navigation bar, keeping an overview at all times.
- Location-Specific Sound Sources: This means when your players' tokens pass by a stable, they hear the cows mooing, and when they enter buildings, the noise fades and is replaced by the creaking of the hut and the crackling of the fire.
- Connected Maps: For instance, in a dungeon, maps are linked so that players (if the game master wishes) can move independently from map to map, making it feel like a cohesive world.
- Handouts: Most maps come with handouts, rendered images of specific areas that may be of interest depending on the story you are telling.
- And Much More: Watch our trailer for a more comprehensive overview.
Beneos Content is divided into two sections: Beneos Battlemaps and Beneos Tokens, Spells & Items.
Installing Beneos Battlemaps Shop Content in FoundryVTT
Active Patrons of Beneos Battlemaps can load content directly into their FoundryVTT world via our cloud partner Moulinette. Customers of our web shop can install the zip files they download from our website and have the same fully integrated experience. The method of installation makes no difference in terms of content.
- Ensure Required Modules are Installed: Make sure to install the Beneos module and all other necessary modules (a window with the required modules will appear, and you just need to confirm).
- Activate the Modules: Enable the modules in your world.
- Go to Module Settings: Use the Scene Packer module to load the zip files downloaded from the shop into your world.
- Note: We offer both 4K and HD versions to ensure that even weaker systems can display everything properly. Remember that you can use either 4K or HD, not both. If you want to switch, you must delete previously installed scenes as the importer does not overwrite anything in your world.
Installing Beneos Tokens, Spells & Items Content
- Ensure Required Modules are Installed: Make sure to install the Beneos module and all other necessary modules (a window with the required modules will appear, and you just need to confirm).
- Unpack the Folder: Extract the folder into your FoundryVTT data directory.
- Directory Structure: The final structure should look like this: Your FoundryVTT Installation / Data / beneos_assets / (beneos_tokens, beneos_items, and beneos_spells).
- Open Beneos Search Engine in Foundry VTT: Go to the Actor tab in the top right navigation bar.
- Import New Content: Use the "Import New Content" button to scan the folders for new content, which you can then search for in the search engine or drag into your world via the compendium.
Follow these instructions to fully integrate Beneos content into your Foundry VTT setup and enjoy a seamless gaming experience.
